Native to the Mediterranean, cumin is hotter to the taste, lighter in color, and larger than caraway, a spice with which it is sometimes confused. Cumin is a popular ingredient in Middle Eastern, Asian, Mediterranean and Mexian cuisines, and is one of the main ingredients in curry powder. Try it in chili, with your other favorite spices as a dry rub. We find people either really LOVE it, or really hate it.
