Why You Need to Start Using Flavored Salt

Posted by Milford Spice on 12/20/2014
Flavored salt is not a gimmick. In fact, your pantry is not complete until you have at least a couple flavored salts that you know how to use. Actually, knowing how to use flavored salts is the key since using them incorrectly or, Heaven forbid, too liberally could very well turn you off of these wonderful ingredients forever. So make sure you use flavored salts as they ought to be used.

Apple Crumble Pie

Posted by Wine & Spice on 12/17/2014 to Sweets

I have come to the realization that MiMom's Pumpkin Pie Spice is the most universal holiday baking spice ever!  This year I find myself using it in all my baked goods and am receiving compliments galore!

The  crumble on this pie adds so much flavor and texture!  Top with vanilla ice cream for an extra creamy delight.

An Irish Coffee pairs wonderfully with this confection!

Swedish Cinnamon Rolls

To me and my family, Swedish Cinnamon Rolls mean it Christmas! These yeasty rolls are flavored with exquisite Cardamom, and MiMoms Pumpkin Spice. The flavor is amazing in these rolls. Enjoy them with your morning coffee or as the Swedes do, with your afternoon coffee (Fika). God Jul!

A Taste of Italian Cooking Using Herbs and Spices

Posted by Milford Spice Company on 12/4/2014 to Italian
Italy is a country steeped in tradition and history that dates back to hundreds of years, and its food is a critical element of its rich culture. From the food served in homes and restaurants to Italian dining etiquette, the Italian touch can’t be denied. While there’s no clear-cut list or rigid identification of the top dishes in Italian cuisine, all favorite dishes can be categorized into antipasto, primo, secondo and dessert. Regional dishes like pasta, minestrone and risotto are some of the popular Italian dishes that have continued to satisfy and inspire both Italians and guests in homes and restaurants.

Bourbon Barrel Grilled Ribeye Steak

Posted by Wine & Spice on 12/2/2014 to Beef, Pork & Lamb

My family loves grilling all year long!  It doesn’t matter if there is a blizzard outside, if we are craving steak, it has to be grilled!  This is the first time we have tried the Bourbon Barrel Smoked Black Pepper and it is outstanding! It adds such a depth of flavor to the meat, makes it taste like you bought it at an expensive steak house!  To add another fabulous layer of flavor I sprinkled a little Truffle Salt on top to finish.  Amazing!   I made this for a Friday night date dinner.  Served with a wedge salad and baked potato.

My husband and I enjoyed this meal with a glass (or two) of Shiraz.
