Apple Strudel

This is the end of apple season here in Colorado. I was lucky to find some fabulous apples at our local Farmers Market last Sunday, absolutely gorgeous delicious apples!

So we are having a really cold wet week, the kiddos are on fall break, and they wanted to bake. I had some frozen phyllo sheets so we decided to make an Apple Strudel using New Hudson Apple Pie Spice. This is hand blended using Saigon cinnamon, ginger root, allspice, nutmeg and cardamom. Fantastic on anything from plain ice cream, fruit, oatmeal, cookies, cakes, apple desserts or in your coffee! 

This is super simple to make and fancy enough for a holiday desert!

Pumpkin Bread

I love this time of year!  We have had such a mild fall, the weather has been wonderful.  Except that it all came of a screeching halt today!  Brrrr….. My poor roses!

My girls are on Fall Break and we decided it was a great day for some baking.  Pumpkin Bread, perfect fall snack on a cold day.  We used MiMom’s Pumpkin Pie Spice, hand blended with Saigon cinnamon, ginger root, clove and nutmeg.  The perfect addition to your cakes, cookies, ice cream, fruits and pies.  You can even make a Pumpkin Spice Latte!

A warm cup of tea is the perfect compliment to this dessert!

Matzoh Crack - Salted Chocolate Caramel Matzoh

This a such a fun and easy recipe to make.  Dark chocolate and caramel with Fleur de Sel, some people call this Matzo Crack!  You can make with Matzoh crackers for Passover or you can use unsalted or salted saltine crackers.  The easy caramel sauce is baked into the cracker, ridiculously good!  Salty, crunchy and sweet, very addictive!!!  If you are so inclined, you can add nuts to the chocolate with the salt before it cools...

Fleur de Sel is an artisanal sea salt comprised of young crystals that form naturally on the surface of salt evaporation ponds. They are hand harvested under specific weather conditions by traditional salt farmers. True Fleur de Sel comes from the Guérande region of France. Like fine wine regions, different areas within Guérande produce salts with their own unique flavors and aroma profiles

Baked Apple Rose


Fall is apple time! This is such a pretty dessert and it is so easy to make. Trending this fall is mini desserts. This will be a great addition to your holiday table!

New Hudson Apple Pie Spice is a fabulous combination of Saigon Cinnamon, Ginger Root, Allspice, Nutmeg and Cardamom. Smells like the holidays! This is a bakers new best friend!

You can use any apple you like in this recipe, I used Honey Crisp, a personal favorite.

We served this with vanilla ice cream and an additional sprinkle of New Hudson Apple Pie Spice! So good!
