Johnny Pizza Kale & Sausage Soup

I adore the cooler weather and making soups from scratch! It is so healthy and fresh! I have been playing around with different spices and found that Johnny Pizza is amazing not only in soup, but for all my Italian dishes. The crushed red pepper adds just a little heat and the mix of Mediterranean oregano, basil, garlic, onion, thyme, fennel seed, red bell pepper, parsley and marjoram is an wonderful combination!

I served this soup with crostini.

A glass of Chianti pairs so well with this meal.

Buon appetito!

Espresso Braised Brisket

ebb10.jpg

To celebrate our family's many October birthdays, I decided to make a Espresso Braised Beef Brisket to feed a large group of family and friends. Mark’s Espresso Rub II is amazing on beef! I rubbed the Mark’s Espresso Rub II on the night before. It sat in the fridge and dry marinated overnight. Let me just say that there was not a morsel of brisket left!

I made sandwiches for my meal. But, you can prepare the same way and serve thinly sliced with mashed potatoes! So good!

We enjoyed a mug of ice cold Pumpkin Ale with this meal!

Guacamole Spewing Pumpkin

hallcaro.jpg

Who doesn’t love Halloween! Fall is such a fabulous time of the year to have fun! Guacamole is a favorite to serve at parties and MSC’s Aunt Nee’s Guacamole Spice Mix contains all that you need to make yours spectacular! It is made with onion, chili powder, garlic, cilantro, sea salt and lime juice.

A great tip if you are not using your guacamole immediately is to place avocado pits into the mix and cover tightly with plastic wrap and store in fridge. This will help prevent browning you guacamole for a few extra hours!

We enjoyed mug of Pilsner with this meal!

Honey Chipotle Shrimp & Polenta

hcs1.jpg

Honey Chipotle has quickly become a favorite in my kitchen. I adore the sweet and spicy (although not hot) combination! It can take the ordinary and make it spectacular.

Today I decided to try it on Shrimp and Polenta. So fabulous, such great flavor. It truly makes your mouth sing. Even picky eaters will love the layered flavors.

This is a south of the Border spin on a traditionally Italian dish.

We enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with this meal.

Espresso Rubbed Tenderloin

esp1.jpg

I enjoy cooking heartier meals this time of year. As much as I love salads, something hot hits the spot. I have found another spice blend that has become a family favorite, Mark’s Espresso Rub II. It imparts such beautiful flavor, a hint of coffee, a little sweet and a little heat! This would work wonderfully on truly any meat or poultry. I used it today on a pork tenderloin. Try it, you won’t regret it!

I served this with a simple smashed potato, Au Jus and some steamed vegetables.

We enjoyed glass of Merlot with this meal!

New Hudson Apple Blossom

ap1.jpg

One of my favorite things about Fall is enjoying the abundance of harvests. Apples are at their best this time of year. This recipe is really easy to make and quick to cook. MSC New Hudson Apple Pie Spice is a wonderful blend of Korintje Cinnamon, Allspice, Nutmeg, Ginger Root and Cardamom. My family absolutely loves the flavors this spice blend brings to all our apple desserts! I will also be posting pear and plumb desserts using this blend! It is so versatile!

You can use any type of apple you like. I recommend firm over soft apples. You can also choose to peel your apples or not. We like the flavor of the apple peel.

We served our blossoms with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A tasty treat any day of the week!

We enjoyed a cup of Mexican Coffee with this dessert!
